About me

Personal info

My name is Christine Geupel and I'm from Hamburg. I am deeply committed to project-based learning, holistic education, educational equity and digital learning. Additionally, I enjoy sports, spending time outdoors, I really love traveling (preferably by train) and I am committed to future-oriented urban development, as exemplified by my role as a member of the citizens' council for the freiRaum Ottensen project in Hamburg.

Previous work

I studied Applied Cultural Studiess in Leuphana University of Lüneburg, a Master of Arts Degree. After that I worked in several educational institutions. Last I worked until november 2023 as Head of Education & School at Claussen-Simon-Stiftung in Hamburg. At the foundation, we awarded scholarships and supported projects in schools for children and adolescents. In recent years, thanks to a significant fund, we have sponsored numerous projects in schools aimed at strengthening digital learning in Hamburg. Many schools were able to establish their own MakerLabs. However, there was often a lack of knowledge on how to utilize these MakerLabs effectively. My goal is to enhance my expertise in programming and digital fabrication through participation in the Fab Academy, enabling me to better support schools in the long term.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hans Weisser Stiftung and the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft for granting me a scholarship, which has made this experience possible. Thanks to these two foundations, I can spend this six-month adventure with my family in Barcelona.
